The owners, Henk and Shaun, ensure their guests are treated to a relaxed and great experience with good food. They are emphatic that Café Ruwach and Art Gallery is not a coffee shop or a steak house it is a Café – a place to socialise with good friends and enjoy a changing variety of good well priced food.

Henk, the owner, loves different tastes so the menu at Café Ruwach is constantly changing – popular choices are his French and Mediterranean food, Moroccan beef or chicken sandwiches, Tandoori Chicken wraps, Gypsy Kings and their very popular ‘Greens’ menu which is wide and delicious. Try their Veggie Tandoori Wrap (potato, green and white beans, carrots, onion cooked with a spicy coconut milk and served in a tortilla wrap), their Potato Bake (medallions of potato deep fried with mushrooms, onion, cream, cheese, peas and chives) or their Asparagus au Gratin (asparagus, peas, cheese, spring onion, and parmesan grilled to perfection.) There is always something new to try at this great little Port Elizabeth eatery no matter how often you return.

You are welcome to bring your own wine and no corkage is charged – they are happy to help you open your bottle!

Walking into Café Ruwach Art and Craft Gallery you immediately realise this is run by people with passion and no fear of hard work to make their dream a reality.

The Art and Craft Gallery displays a wide range of pieces that are produced locally from the Garden Route and Eastern Cape areas although Henk purchases most of the merchandise from the Knysna area and at the Karoo Kunste Fees – one important criterion is the shelves and walls are filled with art work which comes from someone’s heart and soul and NOT from a mass produced factory floor. You need to return often to enjoy the changing selection.
