The InFood Bakery is the only one in the region that employs the from scratch artisan style of baking and uses only stone-ground, chemical free flours much like what our grandmothers would have insisted upon. A wide variety of breads, rolls and pastries are baked fresh everyday with stand-outs being our ciabata, our rolled cheese and olive sticks, sour-dough rye, and a myriad of delectable cakes and tarts made by pastry chef and tartier Amore Halliday. InFood also makes their own pies which include a serious pepper steak, Jaynes chicken and leek and for a good chilli and citrus tang, the Thai jungle curry pie.
Coffee is on the lips of most people these days, and very often it is the quality of the coffee on offer that will determine where people will choose to go. In this department InFood, Jeffreys Bay rules with a state-of-the-art coffee bar with trained baristas making superb beverages using only double roasted Ethiopian espresso beans. Enjoy a double 'flat white' cappuccino with a freshly baked farm butter croissant of an early morning and your day is set. InFood, Jeffreys Bay also have a wide variety of teas from the original Ceylon teas to fruit-infused and herbal teas to be enjoyed with our many pastry choices.
Speaking of vegetarian fare, InFood, Jeffreys Bay has a wide array of vegetarian items on the menu from fresh fruit and muesli, various soups, Mediterranean, Mexican, Thai and Asian vegetable dishes, open sandwiches and mezze items of great flavour, while even our meat and fish dishes are all made with health in mind, using organic and free-range natural-state ingredients wherever possible.
For lovers of fine deli foods, InFood is, dare we say it, also the most well stocked in the area if not the whole Eastern Cape. With shelves lined with pickles, preserves and dry goods, even everything required to make your own sushi, exquisite local and imported olive oils, herb infused olives, West Coast sea salts and Quinoa from Peru to name just a few of our 'OutFood' products. The profusion of imported and local cheeses and cold-cuts from behind the counter are also a gourmet's delight with talagios, smoked and bocaccino mozzarellas, ementhaler and gorgonzola with parma ham, peppered Italian salamis, black-forest ham and even smoked snoek available, this isn't even the half of it.
Obviously having such a well stocked deli at our disposal, our snack and open sandwich menu is a delight to the taste-buds as well. A black forest ham open sandwich with ementhaler cheese, macadamian nuts and wild Karoo honey is quite sublime as is our lightly steamed prawn with quails eggs and creamed wasabe mayonaise. On the toasted sandwich side, all we can say is that our toasties are seriously loaded, and our tuna mayo doesn't come out of a tin.
Last but not least, there is the catering section of InFood, and this is where owner Jayne Davies really comes in to her own. Jayne has spent most of her working life as a caterer and loves nothing better than to make exciting and innovative canapes and mouth-watering nibbles and morsels that are both pleasing to the palate and to the eye. Equipped to do large and small functions, parties, weddings and and anniversaries as well as business and product launches, Jayne has this area of catering excellently under control.
