The monthly village market takes place on the last Sunday and is close to Milkwood Way.

Milkwood Way is a small self-catering retreat at 20 Lyme Road South in St Francis Bay, Eastern Cape. The fully walled property sits in a residential part of the coastal village, with the beach, shops and local attractions within walking distance. Its setting suits guests looking for an easy base for a seaside break, with the village’s canals, surf spots and outdoor activities close by.

Accommodation is arranged across two private cottages beneath traditional St Francis thatching. Each cottage has its own entrance and a relaxed, homely character, making the property suitable for couples, families and small groups who prefer independence during a stay. The atmosphere is quiet and personal, with thoughtful touches that give the cottages a residential feel rather than a formal hotel style.

Milkwood Cottage is a ground-floor cottage sleeping up to four guests. A queen bed occupies the main sleeping area, while two three-quarter beds are arranged in a loft that can give older children or teenagers a separate space. The cottage includes a private bathroom with a shower, a kitchenette with a fridge and microwave, and a private outdoor entertainment area.

Berry Cottage is an upstairs retreat for two guests, with a queen bed, an en-suite shower bathroom and a compact kitchenette equipped with a microwave, kettle and toaster. Its private verandah provides an outdoor place to sit and take in the slower pace of the village. Both cottages include free uncapped Wi-Fi, television entertainment, and welcoming touches such as sherry and rusks.

The property can also be rented as an entire home for larger family gatherings or group occasions during peak season, with sleeping space for up to 10 guests. A separate canal-side cottage is also associated with Milkwood Way, but it is located at another property and has separate parking. Pets may be accommodated by arrangement.

St Francis Bay’s beaches, canal system and surf culture shape the local experience. Nearby activities include nature walks, golf, canal cruises, fishing and whale-watching charters, while the monthly village market takes place close to the property. Milkwood Way suits guests seeking self-catering accommodation with private access, thatched coastal character and a convenient base for exploring St Francis Bay.
