Boardwalk Hotel and Casino
Eastern Cape
At a glance
Boardwalk Hotel and Casino is an all-in-one leisure destination on Beach Road in Summerstrand, Gqeberha, Eastern Cape. The property brings together hotel accommodation, casino gaming, shopping, restaurants, entertainment and event facilities in a coastal setting close to Hobie Beach.
The hotel provides four-star rooms, with ocean views available and the possibility of seeing dolphins from the surrounding coastline. Its location within walking distance of Hobie Beach makes it suitable for travellers combining a seaside break with the convenience of on-site entertainment and dining. The setting also places the hotel close to the beach activity associated with Summerstrand, while keeping the wider Boardwalk complex within easy reach.
The casino is the central entertainment feature, with hundreds of slot machines and a selection of gaming tables. Gambling is restricted to people aged 18 and over, and responsible gambling information is provided by the venue. The casino component gives the property a distinctly adult entertainment offering, while other parts of the complex cater to a broader mix of visitors.
Boardwalk Mall adds a retail and family-entertainment element to the destination. The mall includes more than 94 tenants, with shops, restaurants and activities for families. Dining is therefore built around a selection of on-site restaurants rather than a single signature cuisine or formal restaurant concept. The range of facilities allows hotel guests, local residents and day visitors to combine meals, shopping and entertainment in one stop.
Conferencing and group events form part of the venue’s offering, making the property relevant to business gatherings and organised occasions as well as leisure stays. The overall style is contemporary and resort-like, with accommodation, gaming, retail and dining arranged as connected parts of one large destination. It suits visitors looking for a hotel base near the beach, groups attending events, adults interested in casino entertainment and families making use of the mall’s non-gaming activities.
