A 4-day Garden Route tour from Cape Town offers a delightful journey along the R62 Wine Route, the world’s longest wine route as well as the scenic coastal stretch of South Africa. The Garden Route is known for its stunning landscapes, diverse ecosystems, and charming towns. Here's our itinerary for your 4-day tour: Day 1: Cape Town to Knysna • Morning: Depart from Cape Town at 8am • Travel on the R62 Wine Route passing through the towns Worcester, Robertson, Montagu and Oudtshoorn • Afternoon stop at Oudtshoorn – Visit a Game Reserve in the area • Late Afternoon: Continue to George & Wilderness • Drive on the Ateniqua Pass • Evening: Check-in to your accommodation in Knysna, aha the Rex Hotel or similar (bed & breakfast) Day 2: Knysna to Plettenberg Bay Game Reserve after breakfast • Game drive at Plettenberg Bay Game Reserve • Depart afternoon and head to Bloukrans Bridge • World’s highest bungy jump at 216m (own expense) • Skywalk at Bloukans Brdge (own expense) • Overnight in Knysna, aha the Rex Hotel or similar (bed & breakfast) Day 3: Knysna to Plettenberg Bay • Morning: visit Robberg Nature Reserve for hiking • Visit white sand beaches in Pletenberg Bay • Visit the Knysna Heads • Afternoon - Visit the Knysna Quays Waterfront • Sunset boat cruise in Knysna • Evening: Explore the beaches of Plettenberg Bay and dine at a local restaurant • Overnight in Knysna, aha the Rex Hotel or similar (bed & breakfast) Day 4: Knysna to Cape Town • Depart from Knysna after breakfast • First stop in Hermanus for a brief tour of this town • Whale watching in Hermanus – in season • Proceed to Benguela Cove Wine Estate for wine tasting • Proceed to Betty’s Bay to see the endangered African Penguins • Arrive back in Cape Town in the late afternoon
