&Beyond is committed to providing world-class experiences for discerning luxury adventure travellers.

Our roots are in Africa and our experience there spans many decades. From 1990 to 2008 we went by the name of Conservation Corporation Africa (CC Africa) and are globally recognised as one of the world’s pioneering luxury ecotourism companies.

&Beyond Kwandwe lies in the heart of South Africa’s malaria-free Eastern Cape, near Grahamstown, and is the perfect ending to a journey along the famous Garden Route.

A conservation victory, Kwandwe’s diverse 22 000 hectares (54 360 acres) are home to thousands of animals, including lion, black and white rhino, buffalo, elephant and cheetah.

A day at &Beyond Kwandwe Private Game Reserve

Each day brings a different adventure and you can be sure that you will experience the best that the glorious African Bush has to offer. At Kwandwe your days will be filled with thrilling and intimate wildlife encounters while your nights will be spent reveling in the unsurpassed luxury of your lodge and enjoying the sumptuous surroundings and phenomenal service provided by Kwandwe’s staff.

Here is a little taste of a typical day at the stunning

  • Morning Game Drive - As dawn breaks over the African bush and the sun starts to rise majestically in the distance, a gentle knock on your door will herald in the adventures of a new day. Your ranger will discuss what you hope to see that day over some tea or coffee and morning biscuits before you set out in an open 4x4 safari vehicle in the company of a ranger and tracker team, who will attempt to track as many of your animal wish list as possible. With your binoculars and cameras at the ready, explore Kwandwe's diverse terrain in search of cheetah, lions, black rhino or elephants, making sure you get plenty of snaps for the album.
  • Breakfast - Return to your luxurious lodge for a delicious breakfast, with platters of fruit and cheese followed by a selection of hot breakfast dishes to satisfy even the largest of appetites.
  • Lunch - If you wish, you can walk off your breakfast on a short ranger-led walk near your lodge. Your ranger will lead you around and will show you the smaller animals and vegetation in the area and explain how they contribute to the diverse eco-system you see around you. Return to the lodge in time for a delicious lunch prepared for you by the excellent chefs.
  • Afternoon Tea - Cool off with a refreshing dip in the pool or indulge in an afternoon siesta or simply read a good book on your verandah. Over a late afternoon tea, your ranger will discuss what you hope to see during the afternoon/evening game drive.
  • Evening Game Drive - This game drive begins in the late afternoon and continues until after dark, when spotlights are used to take a glimpse into the nocturnal habits of the African bush life. Spot the big cats getting ready for the hunt, or the elusive porcupine or aardvark. Enjoy sundowners in an idyllic location as the sun slowly sinks beneath the horizon.
  • Dinner - Return to your lodge for a mouthwatering dinner around a blazing fire in a boma or in your lodge's dining area.

A stay at &Beyond Kwandwe Private Game Reserve really is the ultimate in safari luxury. Whether you choose to enjoy the comforts of the funky Ecca Lodge, the up-market surrounds of the Great Fish River Lodge, the tradition and history of the Uplands Homestead or the casual atmosphere of Melton Manor, you can be sure that you will receive the best hospitality the Eastern Cape has to offer.
