Kragga Kamma Game Park

Just a 10 minute drive from Port Elizabeth in the Eastern Cape, lies the Kragga Kamma Game Park where you find yourself in an area of lush coastal forest and beautiful native grassland. The Kragga Kamma Game Park is home to an amazing range of birdlife and African game ranging from Nyala, Bontebok, Lechwe, Zebra, Giraffe, Cheetah, Buffalo and most admired of all; the family of White Rhino. Although this is not a large game reserve the animals at Kragga Kamma roam freely and unrestricted in tranquil natural surroundings. At Kragga Kamma you are assured of excellent game viewing and photo opportunities.

A 4 X4 is not required as, although you travel on untarred bush roads, the roads are well maintained enabling you to enjoy your game viewing in any weather from the comfort of your car. The cheetahs are in a large ‘drive through’ enclosed area where you have the opportunity to see them in their natural habitat.

If you decide to enjoy a few nights at one of the chalets, do not be surprised if you share your breakfast with one of the gentle and exquisite giraffe. The Rhino family may also wander through to see who is visiting their home. You will leave the game park relaxed and filled with delight at having seen and enjoyed such a variety of African wild life.

GUIDED TOUR:

A two hour guided tour with a professional guide in an open Land Rover can be arranged which will ensure you have really close encounters and learn many interesting facts about the animals, birds and the historical background to the area.

BUSH CAFÉ / GIFT SHOP

At the Bush Café you can enjoy delicious meals, snacks and teas while listening to the sounds of the bushveld and watching the amazing birdlife. There is a small gift shop where you can have the chance to buy a few gifts.

PICNIC AREAS AND BARBEQUE FACILITIES

There are some well placed and safe picnic areas and built-in braai (bbq) facilities for visitors to enjoy. The areas are grassed and have wonderful trees so it is a delightful area for children to climb and play.

PHOTO OPPORTUNITY

Have your photo taken with a very relaxed and friendly cheetah and then enjoy the 400 m treetop boardwalk through the forest where you can watch the monkeys and be surrounded by birds.

ACCOMMODATION

A variety of accommodation is available nestled in this unique setting. Families and smaller groups are welcome.

• Thatched Lodges: These consist of two double bedroomed thatched lodges – with a spacious lounge, kitchen and undercover barbeque area; the lodges are fully equipped for self-catering. There are sleeper couches for children.
• Chalet: Spacious downstairs en-suite bedroom or sitting room with an additional sleeping area upstairs. Fully equipped for self-catering with a barbeque.
• Log Cabins: These self-catering cabins consist of one en-suite bedroom with private barbeque area: ideal for couples. There is a sleeper couch for children if required.
• Luxury Safari Tent for the real bush camp experience. The tents are furnished with two single beds (mattresses on request for kids) and self-catering facilities, with en suite bathroom and private barbeque area.

BIRD WATCHING

Kragga Kamma Game Park is a superb place for bird lovers where more than 200 species of wild birds and waterfowl have been documented. Amongst the

species to be seen are the resident bird of prey - the Jackal Buzzard, the Fish Eagle, Yellow Billed Kite, and Sparrow Hawk. The Knysna Loeries are plentiful and good bird watching opportunities can be found on the Treetop Boardwalk and the many waterholes.
